Bob Purgason, Past PCA Boxster Advocate

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of our second PCA Boxster Register Advocate, Bob Purgason. Bob passed away Thursday, May 24th. Bob was instrumental in getting us a new website for PCA Boxster owners. His drive and determination to get to the very best place on the planet for PCA Boxster owners was a labor of love for our marque. He was determined to seek out the very best minds of friends with enormous skills in computer programming. He raised the bar to very high standards of a place where PCA members who own Boxsters can go to share their love of the Boxster. He will be greatly missed.

So sad. Bob was a wonderful guy. I found this new Boxster Register while searching for information on tire pressure monitors. I must have posted enough that Bob took notice and arranged to meet at the Savannah Porsche Parade. We discussed our mutual interest in Boxsters and he twisted my arm to be a moderator.

Bob had such a passion for the Boxster and this Register. It was a pleasure working with him to build this and he did a wonderful job as the 2nd Advocate. He will be sorely missed.

This is very sad news. My deepest sympathies to all that loved, and knew him. I wish I could thank him for all he has done for PCA. I, like many I am sure, felt like I knew him, and I know how he felt about the "Boxster" being the...dare I say....the better sports car.

Bruno Boxster was a fixture when I first showed up. I didn't know the connection. Condolences to Bob's family. He will be missed in the Boxster community. The better sports car.

Bob has been one of my best friends since I met him in 1971. We shared a love of P cars since then. Just prior to his death in May I purchased my first 718 Boxster 4.0 GTS. I think he enjoyed the purchase process as much as I did. His wife Joanie is planning a celebration of Bob's life this September at their home in PA.
